An ideal upgrade for the brittle stock BMW radiator, the Mishimoto E30/E36 X-Line Performance aluminium Radiator provides your vehicle with enhanced reliability and improved cooling efficiency. BMWs are known to have frequent cooling-related failures due to the use of numerous plastic components throughout the system. A simple coolant leak can result in overheating, accelerated engine wear, or head gasket failure. Whether you have a daily-driven E36 M3 or an M20 spinning a large turbocharger, this BMW radiator provides ideal temperatures on and off the track. Most people overlook the importance of installing an upgraded performance radiator in their vehicle. The Mishimoto E36 performance aluminium radiator reduces coolant temperature by 30°F (16.62°C) and is 20% more efficient than the stock radiator. Along with providing an increased coolant capacity of 91%, this BMW radiator improves heat dissipation, which is beneficial for both stock and modified applications.

The Mishimoto X-Line E30/E36 Performance aluminium Radiator is manufactured using durable aircraft-quality aluminium end tanks, precision TIG-welded to an efficient brazed aluminium core. The inlet and outlets provide precise leak-free connections, and all factory overflow and temperature sensor ports are present on the Mishimoto aluminium radiator for use with stock sensors and hoses. This performance radiator also includes a Mishimoto M12 x 1.5 Magnetic Oil Drain Plug with dowty seal, which effectively removes metal fragments circulating in the cooling system. The Mishimoto E36 radiator incorporates mounting points for the Euro oil cooler, and it is a direct bolt-on fit for all 6-cylinder E30/E36 models from 1988 to 1991. As with all our BMW parts, this aluminium radiator includes the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty, ensuring superior product quality and craftsmanship.

Brand

PREPREG is a common term for a reinforcing fabric such carbon which has been pre-impregnated with a resin system. This resin system (typically epoxy) already includes the proper curing agent. As a result, the prepreg is ready to be laid into the mold without the addition of any more resin. In order for the laminate to cure, an autoclave production process is used, a combination of high pressure and heat.

  • Maximum strength and performance characterictics. In a hand layup production process, it is difficult to achieve 50% fabric and 50% resin content.  Typical hand laminates, even when vacuum bagged, end up with a significant amount of excess resin. Excess resin increases brittleness and reduces overall strength properties. On the other hand, most prepregs contain around 35% resin. This is ideal for maximum cured properties and generally impossible to achieve in normal hand lamination.
  • Uniformity and repeatability. The prepreg is of uniform thickness and each part coming out of the mold may theoretically be the same. Vacuum bagging technology may have some errors in processing, but prepreg ensures production consistency.
  • Reduce curing time. After the thermal curing cycle, no need to wait for the standard 48 hours can be fully cured.
  • Aesthetics. Although prepreg processing still requires mold preparation and demoulding, prepreg processing eliminates air bubbles, makes it easier to obtain a smooth, glossy surface as well as eliminates any seaming lines.
