The Dorch Engineering N55 DS25 HPFP Upgrade is the latest advancement in high-pressure fuel pump technology for the BMW N55 engine, delivering exceptional fuel flow, improved reliability, and seamless integration for both street and high-performance applications. As the successor to the popular Dorch Stage 2 (DS2), the N55 DS25 HPFP Upgrade features a completely redesigned internal assembly and optimized external packaging for improved volumetric efficiency and easier installation with improved hose routing.

Designed to support high-boost setups, upgraded turbos, and ethanol blends, the N55 DS25 HPFP Upgrade utilizes a re-engineered pressure chamber, revised spring rates, and deeper plunger depth to maximize fuel delivery across the entire powerband. With the ability to run efficiently up to 250 bar, this high-performance fuel pump can also fully support upgraded direct-injection injectors, making it an ideal fueling solution for high-horsepower BMW N55 builds.

For enthusiasts looking to push their N55 engine to new power levels, the N55 DS25 HPFP Upgrade can also be combined with the Dorch N55 Lift Kit (N55LK) to achieve up to 49% more fuel flow, enabling record-breaking horsepower while maintaining OEM-level reliability.

When combining the Dorch N55 Lift Kit (N55LK) with the N55 DS25 HPFP Upgrade (or the previous DS2), it’s important to understand that there is a minimum power requirement for this combination. This requirement ensures that your vehicle can be tuned easily and operate reliably, maintaining OEM-like drivability. Running the N55LK + DS25 HPFP at power levels below this threshold can make the tuning process unnecessarily difficult for your tuner.

For those building lower-powered setups, the N55 Lift Kit is fully compatible with the Dorch DS15 HPFP (or DS1), with no minimum power requirement. This makes the N55LK + DS15 HPFP combination a great option for all builds, from mild upgrades to high-horsepower setups, while still delivering the +49% fuel flow increase for added flexibility and future-proofing.

Software changes are required to run the N55LK + HPFP upgrade, but preset optimized maps are already available through Bootmod3, and support for MHD will be available soon. Simply select the appropriate “Lift Kit” option when flashing your tune, and the necessary fuelling adjustments will be automatically applied.

Just like our previous generation DS2 kit, there’s no cutting, no bending, no crimping, etc. This kit drops right in with full control from the DME, just like the OEM pump. All of the safety and sophistication of the stock DME remain in place. Software changes are required to run this pump. If using MHD or Bootmod3, simply check the box for our pump upgrade when flashing. Otherwise, please send your .BIN file to [email protected] for the appropriate software implementation via WinOLS.

When pushing much beyond the flow capacity of our existing Stage 2 HPFP kit, the N55 is very much limited by the injectors. In order to see the full potential of this upgrade, it is highly recommended to upgrade to the larger S63 EU5 Injectors. These are OEM BMW injectors that flow up to 800whp on full E85.

PREPREG is a common term for a reinforcing fabric such carbon which has been pre-impregnated with a resin system. This resin system (typically epoxy) already includes the proper curing agent. As a result, the prepreg is ready to be laid into the mold without the addition of any more resin. In order for the laminate to cure, an autoclave production process is used, a combination of high pressure and heat.

Maximum strength and performance characterictics. In a hand layup production process, it is difficult to achieve 50% fabric and 50% resin content. Typical hand laminates, even when vacuum bagged, end up with a significant amount of excess resin. Excess resin increases brittleness and reduces overall strength properties. On the other hand, most prepregs contain around 35% resin. This is ideal for maximum cured properties and generally impossible to achieve in normal hand lamination.
Uniformity and repeatability. The prepreg is of uniform thickness and each part coming out of the mold may theoretically be the same. Vacuum bagging technology may have some errors in processing, but prepreg ensures production consistency.
Reduce curing time. After the thermal curing cycle, no need to wait for the standard 48 hours can be fully cured.
Aesthetics. Although prepreg processing still requires mold preparation and demoulding, prepreg processing eliminates air bubbles, makes it easier to obtain a smooth, glossy surface as well as eliminates any seaming lines.
